Channel Data has had a relation with Makgatsike Primary School in Ga-Marishane, Limpopo since 2004. The relation started when the need for office equipment came to the attention of the Directors of Channel Data.

Not only was the school in need of office equipment, but the school buildings were in a shocking state of disrepair. Of the 7 classrooms, 3 had had the roofs blown away some 7 months earlier, while the rest of the classes had roofs with holes. The company donated a multi function printer with copier, fax, scanner etc a PC plus a years supply of consumables - printer cartridges and the likes. At the hand-over ceremony, which was attended by a representative from the Departmnet of Education, Channle Data challenged the Department that, if the classes were upgraded, the company would donate a computer laboratory.

A year later, in which there was a lot of collaboration between the Provincial Department of Education and Channel Data, Makgatsike Primary School had 14 new and refurbished classrooms. In addition, a special room was constructed as a computer laboratory. In 2005, Channel Data presented a computer laboratory, in line with its commitment and further provided instruction for the teachers, an area in which the Department of Education on Limpopo has been a useful partner.

Further instruction of the teachers continued through 2006, to empower the teachers to take full advantage of the facility with regular instructions now being provided by the Department of Education. In 2007, additional computers were donated by the company, to augment the capacity of the laboratory.

In 2008, Channel Data brought 2 classes - grades 5 and 6 on an educational tour to Pretoria. The visit typically includes the innovations hub, the museums and other educational destinations. The relation until this point has been very fulfilling for the Directors and staff of Channel Data.
